UCSB Women's Soccer senior goalkeeper Hanna DeWeese and junior midfielder Lauren Moss join us on the pod to dig into their tough non-conference schedule, the effect of the US Women's National Team on the sport of soccer in America, and what it's like to compete at Harder Stadium.
A Carlsbad, Calif. native, DeWeese shined last year in an impressive breakout campaign in which she anchored a veteran Gaucho team to a second place finish in the Big West Conference.
DeWeese had arguably the performance of the year when she took command of the Gaucho goal in the second half of a game against Cal early on last season. The then-junior keeper monitored a shutout against a stealth Cal Bears squad which led to a 3-2 Gaucho win in extra time.
Moss, now in her second season with UCSB, transferred from Florida Golf Coast University after a successful freshman campaign that contributed to an NCAA Tournament berth for the FGCU Eagles.
As a reliable midfielder for the Gauchos, Moss remains a leader on and off the field while UCSB looks to integrate 17 new 'Chos into an already successful tradition of UCSB Soccer.
