SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - UC Santa Barbara men's soccer head coach Tim Vom Steeg, men's basketball coach Bob Williams, and women's soccer forward Allie Ariniello will be the featured guests on this week's "Talk'n Gauchos."
The show, which airs live from 6-7pm on KZSB AM 1290 the Santa Barbara News-Press Radio Station and online at UCSBgauchos.com, is broadcast weekly from the Beachside Bar and Café on Goleta Beach.
"Talk'n Gauchos" is hosted by Gerry Fall, the Voice of the Gauchos.
Fans are encouraged to attend the radio show, as those attending "Talk'n Gauchos" will be eligible for a raffle and other UCSB prizes as well as the chance to meet the show's guests in person.
Vom Steeg and his squad are in the midst of an eight game unbeaten streak which has seen them jump atop the Big West Standings. This past week, a win over Sacramento State and draw against Cal Poly let them clinch the conference's North Division, giving them a bye in the first round of the Big West Tournament and hosting duties in at least the second round. The Gauchos look to solidify their spot in the NCAA Tournament when they host UC Davis this Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets for that match can be purchased by calling 805.893.UCSB or clicking here.
Bob Williams -- the Gauchos' all-time leader in wins -- is entering his 15th season on the bench. He will head a team that will look quite a bit different than the squad that won 20 games last season. The Gauchos open their 2013-14 schedule this Sunday when they host Cal State East Bay in a 2:00 exhibition matchup.
Ariniello will be on the program as UCSB Athletics' latest Great Example. The senior forward currently is tied for the team lead with five goals while pacing the Gauchos with 13 points. She and the rest of the Gauchos will wrap up their regular season at UC Davis on Sunday afternoon with the chance to advance into the four-team Big West Tournament.
Season tickets are still available for the men's basketball season. Basketball season tickets for the 2012-13 season include a commemorative ticket to celebrate the Gauchos' upcoming 35 years in the Thunderdome. Click here more information and prices.
