SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - UC Santa Barbara softball coach Brie Galicinao and women’s tennis coach Simon Thibodeau will be featured on Talk’n Gauchos this week. The show, which airs live from 6-7pm on KZSB AM 1290 the Santa Barbara News-Press Radio Station and online at UCSBgauchos.com, is broadcast weekly from the Beachside Bar Café on Goleta Beach.
Galicinao is in her sixth year as head coach at UCSB. Her team enters its three-game weekend series against UC Davis with an overall record of 21-15 and a Big West mark of 2-4. Galicinao is a two-time Big West Coach of the Year, including 2012 when she guided the Gauchos to their best conference record ever at 15-6.
Thibodeau is in his first season as head coach of the UCSB women’s tennis team after a decorated nine-year run at Fresno State where he was named Western Athletic Conference Coach of the Year six times, guided the Bulldogs into the NCAA Tournament seven times and piled up 159 wins. This year, Thibodeau’s Gauchos are 13-6 overall and 4-2 in the Big West. They will take a two-match winning streak with them on the road this weekend when they play at UC Davis and Pacific.

On Tuesday, April 16, the final Talk’n Gauchos of the year will air from the Beachside Bar Café and will feature UCSB Director of Athletics Mark Massari.
