SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Continuing with its community outreach efforts and the commitment to honoring diversity, UCSB Athletics is again proud to promote the awareness of Hispanic Heritage Month. The national celebration runs every year from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.
"We are pleased to once again promote the awareness of Hispanic Heritage Month," said Mark Massari, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. "Diversity is within the fabric of our great university and the local community and we are committed to share this with our fans, staff and student-athletes."
UCSB Athletics’ celebration will, in part, be focused, around a pair of video features that will showcase women’s basketball player Jackie Luna-Castro and, later in the month, Gaucho men’s soccer player Josue Madueño. The duo will discuss their heritage and how it has factored into their athletic careers.
For the fourth consecutive year, UCSB Athletics is partnering
with the Santa Barbara Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to distribute
free tickets to selected UCSB Intercollegiate Athletics events
during September and October. For more information please contact
