UCSB baseball alum and former head coach Dave Gorrie passed away in May 2015. UCSB and a group of Dave's friends and former players are organizing a reunion in celebration of Dave's life. We hope you will come to remember Dave, see old friends, support Gaucho Baseball, and enjoy a weekend in Santa Barbara.
Friday, April 21
2:00pm - Golf at La Cumbre CC for first 30 to register ($125 cost includes golf and cart)
3:00pm - UCSB Baseball vs. San Diego State (for non-golfers)
7:00pm - Gorrie Alumni BBQ, Hosted by Marshall and Barbara Gates (Marshall played for Coach Gorrie's 1971 to 1973 teams)
Saturday, April 22
10:00am - Celebration of Life Service for Dave Gorrie at UCSB Intercollegiate Athletics Building Auditorium
12:00pm – Tailgate lunch at Harder Stadium Entry Plaza ($20 cost includes baseball game ticket)
2:00pm - UCSB Baseball vs. San Diego State, including a special tribute in honor of Coach Gorrie and his Gaucho baseball teams prior to the game.
Sunday, April 23
Concluding party(s) to be organized by sub groups (e.g. 45th anniversary celebration of the 1972 team)
1:00pm – UCSB Baseball vs. San Diego State

Costs- While we have endeavored to make Gorrie Tribute Weekend affordable for everyone, there are a few activities with associated costs.
- UCSB Baseball Games: $9 admission for adults and $6 admission for Seniors/Youth/Military (ticket for Saturday's game included with tailgate ticket)
- Friday Golf at La Cumbre CC (2:00pm Shotgun): $125 covers golf with cart; limited to first 30 to register
- Saturday Pre-game Tailgate (Noon): $20 includes BBQ lunch and baseball game ticket

Finally, one of the goals of the Dave Gorrie Tribute Weekend is the dedication of a “Gorrie Gate” as a permanent entrance to the UCSB baseball complex. The gate would memorialize the contributions and accomplishments of Coach Gorrie during his tenure at the university in a tangible and visible way. A number of former Gauchos and friends have contributed to this project and raised 67% of the $100,000 target needed to erect the gate and provide additional support for the current baseball team.
