Within the Dare to Be Great strategic plan UCSB Athletics created an annual giving program - the Gaucho Fund - to financially support each programs' scholarship and administrative needs. The Gaucho Fund has been a huge success, highlighted by the Living Scholar level of annual giving.
A vital capital campaign to improve athletics facilities is also underway. Individual projects are tied together in a conceptual plan titled the Walk of Champions, where facility needs are addressed from Harder Stadium all the way to the Thunderdome, anchored in the middle by breathtaking new athletics aquatics facility.
A unique way has been created to recognize individual donors who support either:
A donor's gift to the program of their choice will allow for a suite naming opportunity within the beautiful Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) building. Individual administrative or coaches' offices will be named in perpetuity for the generous donor.
This symbolic gesture helps fund the Gauchos' critical needs while demonstrating to the campus and student-athletes that a community supports them as they Dare to Be Great.
