Roenicke, Wallace, Vertigan Named Summer All-Stars

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Three UC Santa Barbara baseball players who are playing with the summer league Santa Barbara Foresters have been named California Collegiate League All-Stars.

Outfielders Lance Roenicke, Joe Wallace and Brett Vertigan have all been named All-Stars in the wood bat summer league and will play at the CCL All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 13. The game will be televised live on Fox Sports West at 6 p.m. and will be played at Casey Stengel Field in Glendale, Calif.

Roenicke, who will be a senior this coming year, is batting .327 with nine RBI and six stolen bases with the Foresters through his first 20 games and has an impressive .433 on-base percentage.

Wallace, who will also be a senior at UCSB next year, has driven in 11 runs and has stolen seven bases while making 15 starts in left field and first base.

Vertigan, who sat out last season after transferring, is currently second on the Foresters with a .378 batting average to go with three home runs, 14 RBI a .634 slugging percentage and a .447 on-base percentage.
