SANTA BARABARA, Calif. - The Gaucho Baseball Academy is proud to announce their newest development camp - "Hawk's Holiday Hitting Camp." Taking place from Dec. 29-30, the camp will be the first from Gaucho Baseball Academy that focuses solely on offensive skills.
The camp will provide athletes with elite instruction from UC Santa Barbara Assistant Coach Jason Hawkins and other members of the Gaucho coaching staff.
In the 2012 season, the Gauchos finished in the top 4 in the Big West in every major offensive category. Coach Hawkins' offense stole the most bases and had the second-highest batting average in the conference. Junior outfielder Brett Vertigan led the Big West in batting average, and set the school record and tied the conference record for triples in a season. Senior outfielder Lance Roenicke was third in the Big West in doubles, while Freshman All-American Greg Mahle and Sophmore Brandon Trinkwon tied for the fifth-highest conference batting average.
The camp is located at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium on the UCSB campus. The cost will be $200 per athlete. The camp is open to any and all entrants. Limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender.
