TUCSON, Ariz. – The bottom third of the UC Santa Barbara lineup helped the Gauchos come out on top 8-3 in Friday's Hi Corbett Classic Tournament opener against Mississippi State, driving in seven runs to ensure the team's seventh straight win.

Epperson Tabbed as Big West Field Player of the Week
Senior third baseman Joey Epperson was voted the Big West Field Player of the Week after leading UC Santa Barbara to a perfect 4-0 week by hitting .588 and collecting multiple hits in each game, the conference announced this morning.

UCSB Scores 29 Runs to Sweep Princeton Doubleheader, Series
After having its scheduled Saturday game cancelled due to rain, UC Santa Barbara brought a new storm to Caesar Uyesaka Stadium on Sunday, scoring 29 runs over two games to sweep a doubleheader from Princeton University and send the Tigers back to New Jersey with a winless record.

Maris and Kuresa Help Gauchos to 6-4 Upset Win at No. 19 UCLA
Juniors Peter Maris and Tyler Kuresa both clubbed home runs to drive in five runs as part of a 6-4 UC Santa Barbara win over nineteenth-ranked UCLA on Tuesday night, giving the Gauchos their first win at Jackie Robinson Stadium since 2011 and their best five-game start to a season since 2000.

The UC Santa Barbara offense fired on all cylinders in a Sunday rubber match at San Jose State, scoring 10 runs on 19 hits to easily claim the series win over the Spartans and give the Gauchos a respectable 3-1 record after the opening week of the 2014 season.

SAN JOSE, Calif. – In the series opener between UC Santa Barbara and host San Jose State at Municipal Stadium, sophomore utility player Robby Nesovic doubled home Joey Epperson in the top of the 10th inning to break a 2-2 deadlock and give the Gauchos a hard-fought win over the Spartans, who had a chance to tie the game in the bottom half but couldn't come up with a clutch hit.
