Baseball Drops Series Finale At Sacramento State

Sacramento, Calif. - For the second game in a row, the UC Santa Barbara pitching staff allowed 13 runs and for the second game in a row, the Gauchos lost to Sacramento State, this time by a score of 13 to 5.

The first six players in the Hornet batting order had two or more hits with Carlos Morales, Jimmy McFarland and Cory Williams collecting three apiece. Williams also had four RBI for Sacramento State (2-1 in Big West play and 8-13 overall).

UCSB, which drops to 1-2 in Big West play and 11-12 overall, was led by Donovan Warrecker, Tyler Von Schell and R.J. Smith all had two hits apiece for the Gauchos with Smith drivng in a pair of runs.

Gabe Neboyia started and was roughed-up for six runs on nine hits in 3.1 innings of work. Reliever jim Bullard had a tough day as well, allowing five runs on six hits in two innings of work.

Jimmy West got the win for Sacramento State, limiting the Gauchos to two runs on five hits in seven-plus innings.
