Box Score

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara baseball team won its sixth straight game as it rolled by Loyola Marymount 15-7 in a non-conference matchup at Page Stadium on Tuesday afternoon. The victory improves the Gauchos record to 17-10 and avenges their 11-9 loss to the Lions earlier this month. Junior right-fielder Matt Wilkerson launched his second career grandslam to power UCSB's offense to its fifth double-digit run output in its last six games.

Right-hander Steve Morlock (4-4) tossed five effective innings for his fourth win of the year. The sophomore allowed three runs on six hits while striking out one and walking none. After surrendering two runs on three straight hits to begin his outing, Morlock turned it around held LMU to just three more hits over his final four innings.

After tying the school record for walks in a game with 13 on March 25 against Cornell, UCSB took advantage of the erratic pitching of seven LMU hurlers to set a new record with 15 bases on balls. The mark also set a school high for the Lions for walks issued in a game.

Andy Graham, Loren Fraser, Ivan Ramirez and Aaron Jones combined to pitch the final four innings of the victory. The Gaucho bullpen allowed four runs on seven hits.

Junior second baseman Chris Malec contributed to his team-leading RBI total as he finished 1-for-4 with three runs scored and two runs knocked in. Wilkerson posted his second five RBI performance in his last three games with 1-for-3 day at the plate and two runs scored. Senior third baseman Nate Sutton went 2-for-2 with three runs scored and an RBI. Sophomore Bill Rowe finished 2-for-4 and drove in three RBI.

Senior Kevin Jenson (0-1) lasted only 2.1 innings for the Lions in suffering the defeat.
