Gauchos Take Twin Bill Over Hawaii-Hilo

In game two, Brian Gump's third-inning double put the Gauchos up 2-0. Brian Lee walked and Alden Carrithers singled to setup Gump's shot to the left field fence. An out later, Chris Valaika singled in Gump for a 3-0 Gaucho lead.

The Gauchos put the game away with a six-run, four-hit fifth and Valaika's three-run homer in the eighth.

UCSB went on to take the 12-1 victory over Hawaii-Hilo.

Valaika was 3 for 5 with four RBI while Gump added a pair of hits for the Gauchos.

Mowers led the Vulcans with a 3 for 3 game.

The Gauchos will be back in action on Tuesday when it visits USC before hosting UC Riverside in the first conference series of the year over the weekend.
