Baseball Team Adds Game At UCLA

April 25, 2011

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara baseball team, battling for a postseason bid, did a lot to help its Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) when it added a game against nationally-ranked UCLA. The game will be played on Wednesday, May 11 at 6 p.m. at UCLA.

The Gauchos added the game after having lost three to Mother Nature this year - a rainout vs. La Salle, a snow out at Washington State and another rainout vs. Nevada.

UCLA is currently ranked as high as No. 13, courtesy of Collegiate Baseball Today. The Bruins are 21-14 overall. UCSB is 17-17 overall.

"This is a great opportunity for us to add a game against a quality opponent," UCSB head coach Bob Brontsema said. "This is a chance to help out our RPI. It's the time of the year when wins are very important as we make a bid for a Regional berth."

The game will be broadcast live online by clicking here with the pregame show starting 15 minutes before first pitch.
