Three More Gauchos Selected In Major League Baseball's 2001 First Year Player Draft

Three more Gauchos were selected on the second day of the Major League's 2001 First Year Player Draft, making the number of total drafted Gauchos increase to nine.

Senior left-handed pitcher Rylie Ogle was selected in the 28th round by the New York Mets, becoming the third pitcher on the staff selected in the draft. Senior second baseman Chad Peshke was selected in the 33rd round by the Cleveland Indians, making it a clean sweep for the Gaucho infield. All four Gaucho infield starters were selected in the draft. Junior outfielder Jed Stringham was selected in the 36th round by the Detroit Tigers.
