Ryan Madry is in his fifth season as a UC Santa Barbara assistant coach. He is one of the staff's primary recruiters and he also handles numerous on-court duties.
Madry spent the 2010-11 season as the Director of Basketball Operations at Cal State Fullerton before joining the Gauchos' staff.
Before his one year stint as the Director of Operations for Bob Burton at Fullerton, Madry spent two years (2008-10) as the Video Coordinator at the University of San Francisco. In 2007-08, he was the co-Head Coach at West Valley College, where he also played for two seasons, and in 2006-07 he assisted former UCSB assistant coach Danny Yoshikawa at West Valley. Madry's first coaching experience came in 2005-06 at his alma mater, the University of West Georgia, where he was a graduate assistant.
A native of the Bay Area, Madry played two seasons at the University of West Georgia and was co-captain his senior season. He earned his BS in Sports Management from West Georgia in 2006. Madry also played a pair of years at West Valley and, like his predecessor Jono Metzger-Jones and former Gaucho great Brian Shaw, he is a product of Oakland's Bishop O'Dowd High School.
