LOS ANGELES (AP) - Nick Jones scored five points down the stretch and Branduinn Fullove hit a pair of free throws with 10.4 seconds left as UC Santa Barbara, after squandering a huge first-half lead, rallied to beat Cal State Northridge 57-54 Thursday.

Santa Barbara (10-5, 4-1) trailed 48-46 when B.J. Ward converted on a three-point play. Jones then went on his five-point drive with a pair of layups and a free throw, putting the Gauchos ahead 55-50 with 35.1 seconds left.

In the first half, the Gauchos led 19-2 and held the Matadors (3-10, 2-2) without a field goal until Curtis Slaughter hit a 3-pointer with 9:28 left. But Northridge fought back, outscoring Santa Barbara 22-3 to take a 26-24 halftime lead.

Markus Carr scored all 12 of his points for the Matadors in the first half. Fullove had 18 points for UC Santa Barbara, and Slaughter led Northridge with 15.
