Men's Hoops Falls To Idaho, 40-37

MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) - David Howell led Idaho 40-37 over UC Santa Barbara on Saturday with nine consecutive free throws.

Idaho (7-13, 4-7 Big West Conference) avenged its Jan. 3 loss to Santa Barbara (12-8, 6-5).

Howell capitalized on the Gaucho's 10 fouls. He finished with 13 points but committed a game-high five turnovers.

Justin Logan had a game-high 14 points and four 3-pointers, the last giving Idaho the lead for good at 36-34 with 2:49 to go.

UCSB's Adam Ndiaye missed two free throws at the 1:37 mark and Logan hit a jumper to make it 38-35 with 1:15 remaining.

But Gaucho Nick Jones' two free throws with 58 seconds left made it 38-37.
