MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) - Dwayne Williams scored a season-high 23 points and Idaho held UC Santa Barbara to 21.3 percent shooting in a 57-45 victory Thursday.
Idaho (8-12, 4-6 Big West) made 12 of 15 free throws in the second half to extend its winning streak to three games and keep the Gauchos (12-7, 6-4) from getting any closer than 10 points after halftime.
Williams made six 3-pointers for Idaho, while Tyrone Hayes scored 15 points with a game-high nine rebounds.
Branduinn Fullove and Joe See scored nine points apiece for UCSB, which made just 10 of 47 shots from the floor and endured a span of more than 12 minutes without a basket during the late-first and early second half.
Idaho enjoyed a 17-2 scoring run during that span, fueled by three of Williams' 3-pointers. He has made six 3-pointers in each of his last two games.
UCSB's 11 first-half points matched a school record for fewest points in a half. The Gauchos scored 11 points in the first half against Fresno State in 1981.
