Men's Basketball Edged On The Road By Cal Poly, 66-63

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) - Shane Schilling scored 20 points and came down with the rebound at the buzzer as Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo beat UC Santa Barbara 66-63 Thursday night.
Cal Poly (12-11, 8-6 Big West Conference) shot 56 percent in the game and held off a 14-4 run by UC Santa Barbara (13-11, 10-4) late in the second half.
Schilling broke a 63-63 tie with a baseline jumper at the 1:40 mark and Jason Allen hit a free throw with 11.7 seconds left.
UC Santa Barbara had a chance to send the game into overtime, but Mark Hull's three-point shot just before the buzzer was long.
The win snapped the Mustangs' 10-game losing streak to the Gauchos.
Allen had 15 points and Varnie Dennis had 10 points and six rebounds for Cal Poly.
