ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Cecil Brown scored 12 points to lead UC Santa Barbara to a 76-44 rout of UC Riverside in the first round of the Big West Conference tournament Wednesday night.
Joe See and Cameron Goettsche scored 11 points apiece and Goettsche tied a school record with a career-high six blocks for the fifth-seeded Gauchos (15-13), who will face No. 4 seed Cal Poly in Thursday night's second round.
Ricky Porter scored 13 points for the eighth-seeded Highlanders (5-23), and ended his career as UC Riverside's all-time leader in games played with 113. Steve Williams added a season-high 11 rebounds.
UC Santa Barbara scored 33 points off 25 Riverside turnovers and forced the Highlanders to shoot 26.7 percent as the Gauchos earned their seventh victory in nine games.
