SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Branduinn Fullove scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds as UC Santa Barbara defeated San Francisco 69-49 in a nonconference game Saturday night.
Fullove, who made 10-of-11 free throws, gave the Gauchos (2-0) a commanding 64-47 lead by hitting a 3-pointer with 3:50 remaining.
UC Santa Barbara, which outrebounded San Francisco 43-28, opened the second half on an 11-6 run that extended their advantage to 47-33.
The Gauchos zone defense created problems for San Francisco (1-2), which shot a dismal 26 percent from the floor and made only 5-of-25 from 3-point range.
Shamell Stallworth and John Cox each had 11 points for the Dons.
The Gauchos built a 15-8 lead after Mark Hull, who finished with 15 points, raced down court for an uncontested dunk with 13:42 in the first half.
But San Francisco outscored UC Santa Barbara 18-6 in the next seven minutes to take a 26-21 advantage. Stallworth hit two 3-pointers during the Dons run.
UC Santa Barbara scored the next 15 points, six coming on back-to-back 3-pointers by Nick Jones, to close the half with a 36-27 lead.
Jacoby Atako had 11 points and Jones added 10 for UC Santa Barbara, which shot 44 percent.
