SANTA BARBARA (AP) - Branduinn Fullove scored 19 points and Nick Jones added 16 with 10 rebounds as UC Santa Barbara beat San Francisco 70-47 Saturday.
The Gauchos (2-2) held the Dons (0-3) to under 30 percent shooting in both halves and 29.3 percent for the night.
UCSB jumped out to a 7-0 lead and never trailed, holding San Francisco scoreless over the first five minutes. Fullove scored 11 points in the first half as the Gauchos took a 31-21 lead.
UCSB also got the jump on San Francisco in the second half with a 12-2 run in the first three minutes.
Darrell Tucker, who scored 11 of his team-high 14 points in the second half, rallied the Dons to within 11 points, 58-47, with 4:26 to go.
But Jones scored on a put-back then added a three-point play as the Gauchos scored the game's last 12 points.
UCSB swarmed the backboards to out-rebound the Dons 46-31, with five Gauchos getting at least five.
