Men's Basketball Can't Finish Off St. Mary's, Loses 71-63

UC Santa Barbara made only 7-of-31 second half shots, including 1-for-11 from three-point territory, and they blew a 13-point lead in the final 12 minutes, losing to St. Mary's, 71-63.

The Gauchos led 51-38 when Mike Vukovich threw down a dunk with 12:09 to go in the game, but it was downhill from that point on as the Gaels outscored UCSB 33-12 the rest of the way. Vukovich was one of three Gauchos who finished with double-figures as he tallied 12. Forward Juliano Jordani had his best game of the year with a UCSB game-high 15 points, 11 rebounds and two blocked shots. Mark Hull made only 1-of-7 shots from three-point range, but he did finish with 14 points.

In winning only their second game of the season, St. Mary's had four players in double-figures and they shot 43.9%.

UCSB drops to 2-6 on the season and they are winless, 0-4, on the road. They remain on the road for one more game when they travel to UC Riverside on Wednesday, December 27 for a 7:30 p.m. game against the Highlanders.
