Men's Basketball Falls To San Diego State Wednesday

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Myron Epps scored 20 points and led a second-half comeback in San Diego State's 60-57 victory over UC Santa Barbara on Wednesday night.
Epps became the Aztecs' main offensive weapon after they fell behind 39-25 with 13 minutes left in the game. Epps scored nine points in six minute to give San Diego State its first lead of the game at 46-45.
Bradley Jackson's jumper put San Diego State (3-5) ahead for good at 53-52 with two minutes left. Jackson finished the game with 10 points. After Donte Wilson hit a 3-pointer, UC Santa Barbara's Brandon Payton made a 3-pointer with 16.4 seconds to cut the lead to 58-57.
Vincent Okotie, who made four free throws down the stretch, sank two with 14.9 seconds for the final margin. With a chance to tie, the Gauchos failed to get off a shot before the final buzzer.
UC Santa Barbara (2-6) led 29-19 at the half, but saw its lead disappear as it made only 36.4 percent of its shots and committed 17 turnovers in the second half.
Epps finished 7-for-10 from the floor and had eight rebounds as San Diego State made 12 of its final 19 shots, including its last four 3-point attempts.
Payton scored 18 points off the bench to lead the Gauchos, who lost despite having a 43-27 edge in rebounds.
