UC Santa Barbara men's basketball coach Bob Williams will host his weekly radio show that airs on 1490 KIST AM from the Paradise Café on Tuesday from 7-8 p.m. The show, which not only focuses on previous and future men's basketball games and events, covers all UCSB intercollegiate athletics.
Joined by women's basketball play-by-play broadcaster Steve Wendt, who is in his fifth season announcing Gauchos games, Williams interviews a fellow UCSB athletics department member and a Gaucho student-athlete on the program.
This week, Williams and Wendt will sit down with UCSB men's basketball assistant coach Brad Holland, who is in his first season with the Gauchos after 13 as the head coach at the University of San Diego. Baseball pitcher Mike Ford, who is on the Brooks Wallace Watch List to honor college baseball's best player, will also appear on the program. Ford's team is ranked No. 30 in a pair of preseason polls.
Fans are encouraged to come to the Paradise Café to listen to the show live with the first 10 fans receiving either a Gaucho basketball T-shirt or a pair of tickets to upcoming basketball games.
In addition, any fans who have a question for coach Williams, Holland or Ford should click here and the question will be read and answered live on the air.
UCSB - a nationally recognized university in both academic and athletic excellence - is located on the central coast of California in a picturesque campus and community setting on the Pacific Ocean. Each year over 450 Division 1 Gaucho student-athletes compete for national championships, succeed in the classroom and give back to the community.
