UCSB Students Offered Free Bus Trip, Ticket to Thursday's Gaucho-Cal State Northridge Hoops Showdown

March 4, 2008

The first 40 UC Santa Barbara students to RSVP will receive a free ticket and free transportation to the Gauchos' Big West showdown at Cal State Northridge on Thursday night, the Athletics Department announced Tuesday. Students will also be provided with pizza and sodas.

The game, which will go a long way in determining the Big West regular season champion and the top seed at next week's league tournament, will tip-off at 7:00 p.m. in the Matadome. The bus will leave UCSB at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.

The Gauchos, who have won seven of their last eight conference games, including five straight on the road, dropped a heartbreaker to the Matadors on Jan. 5, 88-84 at the Thunderdome. UCSB led by 13 points in that game.

Students interested in making the trip to support the Gauchos should contact Christina Baglas, Assistant Director of Marketing, at Christina.Baglas@athletics.ucsb.edu. All students are required to RSVP if interested in making the trip.
