The UC Santa Barbara men's and women's basketball schedules have been officially released and to benefit loyal fans the renewal deadline for season tickets has been extended to Oct. 15.
The Gaucho men's team will return almost every key player from a team that will look to defend the Big West regular season and tournament championships and make a second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. Included among the returnees are Big West Player of the Year Orlando Johnson and all-league selection James Nunnally.
UCSB's exciting 14-game men's home schedule includes non-conference contests against former Big West-rival Fresno State and West Coast Conference power Loyola Marymount. The Gauchos are also scheduled to be a home team on ESPNU Bracketbuster Saturday. In addition, there will be eight important Thunderdome dates against Big West opponents, including a Dec. 28 rematch of the Big West Tournament championship game against Long Beach State.
The Gaucho women's team will return All-Big West performers Emilie Johnson and Mekia Valentine. They will play a 15-game home schedule. The non-conference portion of the slate includes match-ups with UTEP, Idaho, Portland State and Seattle. Key dates during the eight-game league portion of the schedule are Jan. 6 against UC Davis, Feb. 12 against UC Riverside and Feb. 24 against Long Beach State.
Men's season tickets start for as low as $125 and women's for as low as $100. A special "Double-up" combo plan is available for $200 and includes tickets for every men's and women's game. Gold Zone tickets, which include special Founders Room at the Thunderdome events, require a $300 per seat donation to the Gaucho Fund in addition to the cost of the season ticket. Gold Zone season ticket holders also receive complimentary parking and entrance to the Gold Hospitality Room pregame and halftime.
With the One Donation is Gold program, all current season ticket holders in the Gold Zone for soccer have made the required donations for basketball and need only to pay for the cost of the basketball season ticket.
