Milos Golic, Kathy Gregory and Bob Williams Take to the Mic on Talk'n Gauchos

Oct. 11, 2010

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - UCSB Athletics' weekly radio show, Talk'n Gauchos, will feature men's water polo player Milos Golic, women's volleyball head coach Kathy Gregory and men's basketball head coach Bob Williams this Tuesday, Oct. 12.

The show airs live from the Beachside Café, located nearby campus at Goleta Beach. Fans who show up will have the opportunity to win UCSB tickets and Gaucho gear as well as receive food specials. Tickets to the 2010 College Cup, which will be played at UCSB's Meredith Field at Harder Stadium in December, will also be available to win.

Talk'n Gauchos airs on Tuesday nights from 6-7 p.m. on the Gauchos' new radio home, AM 1290 KZSB News-Press Radio. Gerry Fall, the voice of UCSB men's soccer, men's basketball and baseball, will host the show, which also streams live online at http://pointers.mmpros.net/asxfiles-live/il80winlive1096.asx.

Fans can email in questions for the guests, which will be read live on-air, by clicking here. You can also follow on UCSB Athletics' Twitter page at twitter.com/UCSBgauchos to send in questions and win tickets and prizes.

A senior water polo standout, Golic set a new UCSB career scoring record Sunday when the fifth-ranked Gauchos defeated 16th-ranked Concordia, 10-6, at Campus Pool. Golic recorded a hat trick in the win over the Eagles, bringing his career goals count to 246, topping Larry Mouchawar's previous school record of 244, which was set during the 1983 season. The native of Belgrade, Serbia, and three-time All-American tied the record three minutes and 23 seconds into the second quarter. He then made the record his own just a minute and 33 seconds later with his 245th career goal.

Golic wasn't the only Gaucho to recently add a title to his resumé as Gregory was named UCSB's latest Legend of the 'Dome on Oct. 1. The program, started in 2009, immortalizes the Gaucho athletes and coaches that consistently turned in (and continue to turn in) legendary performances inside of a legendary building. The Volleyball Hall of Famer and the only coach UCSB women's volleyball has known is just one of five coaches to amass over 800 career wins. As a player, the "Queen of the Beach" was tabbed the Women's Beach Tournament Player of the Year five times.

It will be Williams' first appearance of the year on Talk'n Gauchos. He'll provide a preview of this season's Gauchos, which won the Big West regular season and tourney titles and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2010. Williams will also get fans fired up for this Friday's (Oct. 15) Duke to the 'Dome and 10 O'Clock Thunder events. Following the 5 p.m. women's soccer game against UC Davis and the 8 p.m. nationally televised (Fox Soccer Channel) men's match vs. Duke at Harder Stadium, fans will march over to the Thunderdome to help tip off the 2010-11 men's and women's basketball seasons.
