Oct. 12, 2000

Santa Barbara, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara men's basketball team will be featured on national or regional television six times in 2000-01, the Big West Conference announced today.

The Gauchos, one of the league's top teams since the arrival of head coach Bob Williams in 1999, will be on ESPN and ESPN 2 one time apiece and they will be on Fox Sports Net 2 four times, beginning with the season opener at Pepperdine on November 19.

"This is a very exciting thing for us," commented Williams. "It gives us an opportunity to show a large audience just how far the program has come in a couple of years. It is nice to see this coverage not only for UCSB, but also for the Big West Conference."
