IRVINE, Calif. - UC Santa Barbara junior guard Alex Harris was named Big West Player of the Week after leading the Gauchos to a come-from-behind 75-68 win over visiting San Jose State on Friday, the league announced Monday.

Harris scored a career-high 25 points as UCSB overcame a 12-point deficit to open the campaign 1-0. The native of Alameda, Calif., scored 15 points in the second half of the victory. He also made 5-of-9 three-point baskets en route to his 25 points. The five three-pointers was also a personal best.

The Player of the Week honor was Harris' first. Last season, only one Gaucho, Cecil Brown, earned the award.

UCSB is at Montana State tonight for a 6:00 p.m. (PST) game.
