Freshman forward James Nunnally poured in a game and career-high 22 points against No. 1 North Carolina before a sellout crowd of 6,000 at the Thunderdome on Nov. 21.
Nunnally outscored all players by hitting eight of 15 shots from the floor. He was three-for-four from long range and made all three of his free-throws. The San Jose, Calif. native also added a block and a steal in 26 minutes of play off the bench.
Nunnally hit a three-pointer with five seconds remaining in the game to account for the final score of 84-67 in favor of the Tar Heels.
