UCSB Duo Shines, Lead Gauchos to 4th-Place Finish at Jackrabbit Invitational

BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Brett Bennett and Matt Moomjian each shot a 5-under par 211 to tie for sixth-place among individuals, helping UC Santa Barbara to a fourth-place finish at the Jackrabbit Invitational at the Boulder Creek Golf Club on Saturday.

The host school, UNLV, won the team title, with a score of 30-under par 829. The Rebels were spectacular in the final round with a 20-under par 263. UCLA finished second, five shots off the pace, while Nevada finished 13 shots back and UCSB was in fourth, 28 shots off the pace.

Bennett and Moomjian tide for sixth-place in the individual race. UCLA's Devon Bling won the individual medalist honors with a 15-under par finish, one shot ahead of Shintaro Ban of UNLV who shot a 14-under par 202. The Rebels Jack Trent finished third with an 11-under par 204.

UCSB's Brandon Bauman tied for 14th with an even-par 216, tying for 14th-place. Nick Swanson tied for 33rd at 6-over par, and Willy Moffly was tied for 55yh at 12-over par.

The Gauchos will return to aciton at the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational at Chamber Bay Golf Club  in University Place, Washington on April 2-3.
