SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - UCSB golfers Brian Hollenbeck and Russell Boring were named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars for the 2009-10 academic year. To earn the honor, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum 3.2 cumulative grade point average and have a stroke average under 76.0 per round.
Hollenbeck, who was a senior in 2009-10, was a Second Team All-Big West selection. He finished the year with a 73.37 stroke average and saved his best for last, finishing in eighth place at the Big West Championship. Boring, a junior who tied for 11th at the Big West Championship, had a 73.24 stroke average.
For Hollenbeck, a business economics major, it was the second straight year that he was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar. It also marked the second year in a row that two Gauchos were All-America Scholars.
