Gauchos to Hold Annual Meet the Team Event

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – To kick-off the 2011 men's soccer season, UC Santa Barbara will host its annual Meet the Team Reception on Aug. 20 prior to its season-opening exhibition against Westmont.

The event, which will be held from 2-4 p.m. at the Lamb Residence, will allow Gaucho fans to hear head coach Tim Vom Steeg speak about the upcoming season and a chance to meet the members of the 2011 team. The season-opener will follow at 7 p.m. at Meredith Field at Harder Stadium.

Including the Westmont pairing, UCSB will host 12 exciting home games this season. Also facing off with the Gauchos at Meredith Field at Harder Stadium will be defending College Cup Champion Akron, the Big East's West Virginia and Villanova, and Blue-Green rival Cal Poly, just to name a few.
