• West Coast Wanderers
UCSB will cover over 1,200 miles of the West Coast this week as it hits the road for a pair of non-conference matches at San Diego and Seattle on Friday and Sunday, respectively. Taking the trip with UCSB will be the Voice of the Gauchos, Gerry Fall, who will provide a free online audio broadcast here to make sure Santa Barbara fans near and far don't miss a minute of this weekend's action.

• For The Record
The Gauchos remain undefeated heading into this weekend's action with a record of 3-0-1. This is the third season out of the last four – including 2011 and 2009 – that UCSB has been undefeated through its first four contests. If the Gauchos record any combination of wins or ties this weekend, it will mark their best start to a season since 2004 when the team went undefeated through its first 12 matches.

• Let's Check The Polls
UCSB's stock has risen in three national polls following last Friday's home victory over Valparaiso. In the NSCAA Coaches' Poll – which will be used for our purposes this season – the Gauchos have jumped from ninth to No. 6, which is also their ranking in the TopDrawerSoccer.com poll for the second consecutive week. The No. 6 NSCAA ranking is the team's best in the poll since Sept. 2011 when they held the same spot for two consecutive weeks (Sept. 5 and 12). Soccer America has bumped the Gauchos two spots to No. 7 while College Soccer News has moved UCSB up one spot to No. 8.

• Gauchos Know Goals
UCSB racked up a pair of second-half goals to overcome a halftime deficit and defeat Valparaiso on Friday. The match marked the fourth-straight this season that the Gauchos have scored two or more goals. In fact, dating back to the 2011 campaign, UCSB has scored multiple goals in 12 of its last 13 contests. The Gauchos currently rank second in the Big West – behind UC Riverside – with their 2.25 goals per game average and rank 19th nationally in scoring offense.

• Third Time's A Charm
Team goals-leaders junior Achille Campion and senior Nic Ryan each scored their third goal of the year during Friday's win. Campion assisted Ryan's game-tying strike to bring his season points to a team-leading seven. Campion's 1.75 points per game average is tied for the lead in the Big West. Ryan, meanwhile, leads the league in game-winning goals with two so far this season.

• The Series
UCSB owns a 10-6 advantage in the all-time series against San Diego and has not only won the last four contests against the Toreros, but has also out-scored them 7-0 across those pairings. The Gauchos' first meeting with Seattle resulted in a 3-1 season-opening victory in August of 2011.

• Injury Report
Junior defender and 2011 All-Big West selection Peter Schmetz is not anticipated to appear in either of this weekend's matches due to a hip injury.

• Coming Soon!
After this weekend's road swing, UCSB will return home for arguably one of the biggest matches of the 2012 men's college soccer season against UCLA on Sept. 21. The match will be broadcast live on FOX Soccer Channel and a record crowd is expected at Harder Stadium.
