• For The Record
With four weeks of play already behind them, the Gauchos remain unbeaten heading into this week's pair of matches with a 5-0-1 record. This start marks the best by the program since 2004, when UCSB went undefeated through its first 12 matches.

• Gauchos Garner Highest Ranking Since 2009
The NSCAA Coaches' Poll has ranked UCSB third this week, which is its best ranking from the organization since Oct. 13, 2009. This week marked the release of the first regional polls and UCSB is No. 1 in the Far West. In the other national polls, the Gauchos are ranked third by Soccer Times, are fifth in both the TopDrawerSoccer.com and Soccer America polls, and are ranked ninth in the College Soccer News poll. UCLA's current rankings range from No. 8 to No. 12 and it is currently No. 3 in the Far West region.

• Gauchos Know Goals
UCSB currently leads the Big West and ranks fourth nationally with its 3.0 goals per game average. Between last weekend's two matches against San Diego and Seattle, UCSB out-scored its opposition, 9-2. In fact, the Gauchos have scored three goals in each of their last three halves played. UCSB has scored two or more goals in each of its games this season and has scored multiple goals in 14 of its last 15 contests, dating back to the 2011 season.

• Assisted Living
In addition to leading the league in goals, the Gauchos also lead the pack in assists per game (2.67) and rank 11th nationally in total assists. Junior Dom Sarle leads the league with his four assists – ranking eighth in the nation – and his 0.67 assists per game, which is 12th nationally. Sarle tallied three of his four assists last weekend alone, dishing out one against San Diego and a pair – in addition to his goal – in the match-up with Seattle.

• There's A Rivalry Bruin
No. 12 UCLA enters Friday's match with a 4-1-1 record and a 1-1-1 record in matches against ranked opposition. The Bruins have won their last four matches, all by a one-goal margin. UCLA is the first ranked opponent that the Gauchos will face this season. Over the last 11 years, the teams have created quite the rivalry with the Gauchos positing a 2-3-2 record against the Bruins since 2001. Of the last seven games between the squads, four have been decided by one goal.

• The Camera Adds Nine Wins
The Gauchos have become a yearly fixture on FOX Soccer and this marks the first of two games this season to be broadcast by the channel; the second will be their Oct. 19 home contest against Cal Poly. UCSB has posted a 9-2-3 all-time record in TV games and has gone 7-2 in FOX Soccer televised pairings.

• Campion Rakes In The Honors
Junior Achille Campion scored goals in each of the Gauchos' victories last week earning him multiple honors. He was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week, selected as the LA Soccer News Player of the Week and also named College Sports Madness' Big West Player of the Week. Campion leads the Gauchos with five goals and 11 total points. His 1.83 points per game average leads all Big West players and ranks 18th among all Division I players.
