SANTA BARBARA, Calif – On Sunday, Aug. 25 – the day after the men's soccer season opening match against Westmont – the Gauchos will host their fourth annual AYSO Skills Day.
Taking place from 2-6 p.m., the AYSO Skills Day is free to all AYSO affiliated players, coaches, and parents and will feature skill clinics with UCSB players and coaching clinics with UCSB coaches. Participating teams will be able to learn new skills and tricks, have fun with the Gauchos, and receive promotional items and autographs.
No registration is required at this year's event, which will take place at Harder Stadium. Last year's Skills Day drew over 1,500 participants.
"Our AYSO Skills Days in the past have always been a way to give back to the community while also connecting with one of our most valuable community partners," said men's soccer head coach Tim Vom Steeg. "Our players look forward to the event every season and this year is no exception."
Both the women and men's soccer programs at UCSB participate in extensive community outreach activities throughout the year, including the Gaucho Guest Coaching Program. For more information on these outreach programs and to sign up, click here.
