Campion Named to College Soccer News National Team of the Week
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – After a two-goal performance last Friday night against Yale, senior forward Achille Campion has been named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week, it was announced today.
Campion's first goal against the Bulldogs came in the 11th minute. Moving down the left wing, Drew Murphy played a one-two with fellow freshman Ismaila Jome to advance just feet away from the Yale goal. Murphy then sent a ground cross across the box, finding Campion who knocked it home.
The Frenchman scored his second goal at the 65:00 mark when junior defender Kevin Garcia-Lopez made a run into space down the right touchline. Garcia-Lopez then unleashed a cross into the box, which Campion met with a highlight-reel scissor kick to the near post, putting the game on ice.
Campion is now tied with Goffin Boyoko for the team-lead with three total goals. He leads the team with seven points.
