Completing the list of new assistant coaches is Erick Foss, who is entering
his first season as the goalkeeper coach for UCSB.
A standout at Santa Margarita High School from 1998-2001, Foss joins the
Gaucho coaching staff with an extensive knowledge of the position.
The Dana Point, Calif. native was a three-year starter with the Eagles and
was named the Orange County Player of the Year in 2001. Foss was also
awarded the Gatorade State Player of the Year as a senior.
Prior to coming to UCSB, Foss was a coach with West Coast FC of the Coast
Soccer League and served as the keeper coach at Santa Margarita from
2001-05. Foss also spent one year as the goalkeeper coach for the women's
team at Santa Monica College in 2005.
Foss played collegiately for Southern Methodist University in Dallas and was
a three-year letterwinner for the Mustangs. While at SMU, he earned his
bachelors degree in psychology.
Foss is single and resides in Santa Barbara.
