2005: His personal goal for the season is to help the team get back to the National Championship game...2004: The junior walk-on made seven appearances for the Gauchos in some of UCSB's biggest matches of the season, including three NCAA Tournament matches and five of its final seven...Successfully shutdown Cal State Northridge's Willie Sims, limiting the Big West Co-Offensive Player of the Year in his first and only career start, playing the full 90 and limiting Sims to just one shot in what proved to be the match (11/9) for the Big West title...The defensive midfielder registered his only shot of the season early in the season against Westmont (9/4)...The opposition combined to tally just two goals in the seven matches in which Hughes appeared.
