Named to the Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy Watch List.
Made a tremendous impact in his first season as a Gaucho, earning both Freshman All-American (College Soccer News) and Second Team All-Big West honors...Appeared in all but one of UCSB's matches (24), tying him for third on the squad and the most among returnees...Started the final 11 matches of the season, making 19 in all, the second most among UCSB's freshman class...Led all Big West freshman with five assists on the season, tying for eighth conference overall...Netted the insurance goal in the Gauchos' win over Seton Hall on his first career collegiate shot, ultimately tallying two on the season...His nine total points on the season were the most to come out of the UCSB midfield and the third most among returning players...Showcased his superb play in the Gauchos' quarterfinal overtime win at UNC Greensboro, pushing UCSB's attack despite playing a man down since the sixth minute of the match, ultimately outshooting the nation's them top-rated offense 10-to-5, four of which came off his foot.
Has earned 16 caps over the course of 2004 and 2005 with Canada's Under 20 National Team...Recently completed play at the FIFA World Youth Championships, starting all 14 matches in Canada's run to and through the WYC's...Scored the game-winning goal in Canada's 1-0 win over Ecuador in a warm-up match prior their three-game in WYC qualifying group play...Netted his first career goal at the U-20 level in Canada's 1-1 tie with Turkey in 2004...Spent three years as a member of Canada's U-17 National Team, earning 15 international caps along the way and scoring two goals...Member of British Columbia's Provincial Team from U-14's to U-17's...Helped British Columbia to a National Championship as a U-15 and a National Finals appearance as a U-17...Played in all three of the CONCACAF qualify games for the 2003 Youth World Cup which Canada missed making by just a one goal differential, it was his most disappointing moment in sports...Named British Columbia's soccer athlete of the year in 2004...Closed out his club career with Columbus FC after spending time with Burnaby, Allouette, and Metroford.
Attended Riverside Secondary School...Was named a First Team All-Star as a junior after helping Riverside to a fourth place finish in the Provincial Finals.
Tyler Rosenlund was born September 13, 1986 in Vancouver, British Columbia...Enters UCSB as an undeclared major...Wants to become a professional soccer player or firefighter after graduation...When he is not playing soccer he is usually working out...Roots for Manchester United playing in Old Trafford would be a dream...Fan of Ronaldo but would love to play alongside Zidane...His favorite movie is "Troy"...Enjoys watching the "The O.C."...His favorite video game is "FIFA 2004"...Can best be described as a joker...Before every game he relaxes and concentrates on the task at hand...Has two younger brothers, Matt and Cole...Son of Bob and Lori Rosenlund.
What is it that you bring to the UCSB men's soccer program and what would like to help it accomplish?
"I bring vision and playmaking abilities to the team. I also think that I bring leadership to the team, even though I am a young player, through my international experience and being named a Freshman All-American. I thing this will help contribute to UCSB winning a National Championship."
