22nd-Ranked Men's Soccer Battles To A Double-Overtime Scoreless Tie At Cal State Northridge

The 22nd ranked UC Santa Barbara men's soccer team battled Cal State Norhtridge, with the nation's 13th ranked defense, to a 0-0 double-overtime tie at Matador Soccer Field. Sophomore goalkeeper Danny Kennedy had a stellar performance between the posts, making a career high eight saves.
Despite the Gauchos' efforts, outshooting the Matadors 22-14, Northridge goalkeeper Joe Barton kept his team in the match, making nine saves before being ejected in the 82nd minute for a tackle on UCSB's Rob Friend.
Memo Arzate paced the Santa Barbara with six shots, four on goal. The Gauchos' dynamic duo of Friend and sophomore Drew McAthy were held to a collective three shots.
UCSB moves to 10-1-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the Big West heading into Friday's match at Cal Poly at 7:00 p.m. The Gauchos then travel to Cal State Fullerton on Sunday to take on five-time National Champion Indiana at 4:00 p.m. in Titan Stadium.
