17th-Ranked Men's Soccer Loses To Top-Ranked Indiana, 3-1

Fullerton, Calif. - Pat Noonan scored his 12th and 13th goals of the season to lead top-ranked Indiana to a 3-1 win over 17th ranked UC Santa Barbara in a match held at Cal State Fullerton on Sunday afternoon.

Michael Bock scored the first goal of the match at the 24:41 mark. It was assisted by Noonan and Vijay Dias. For Bock it was his first goal of the season. Noonan then scored a goal at the 38:04 mark, on an assist by Josh Reiher. Noonan made it 3-0 Hoosiers when he scored unassisted on a free kick at the 64:38 mark.

Gaucho senior forward Rob Friend scored off of an assist from Nate Boyden in the 71st-minute, allowing UCSB to avoid the shutout. The goal was Friend's 14th of the season, tying him with Scott Grassinger for the third most goals in a single-season in UCSB history.

Indiana had 11 shots in the match as compared to eight for UCSB. Danny Kennedy had four saves for the Gauchos and Jay Nolly had three for the Hoosiers. Santa Barbara had ten corner kicks in the contest while Indiana had none.

The Gauchos return to action on Wednesday, October 30 when they travel to UC Irvine for a 7:00 p.m. match.
