Pair of Former Gauchos win MLS Cup

SEATTLE, Wash. - Just three seasons after winning the NCAA Division I title, former UC Santa Barbara men's soccer players Kyle Reynish and Tino Nunez won another title - the Major League Soccer Cup. Their current team, Real Salt Lake, topped the Los Angeles Galaxy on Sunday night in penalty kicks.

The title is the first in Real Salt Lake history, while Los Angeles fell in their six MLS Cup appearance.

Reynish, who was the starting goalkeeper for the Gauchos during their 2006 National Championship season, has been with Real Salt Lake for three seasons. He was selected in the fourth round (43rd overall) of the 2007 MLS Supplemental Draft.

Nunez, a forward, played three seasons at UC Santa Barbara and was on both the 2006 and 2004 College Cup finalist teams. He was selected in the second round (17th overall) of the 2008 MLS SuperDraft.
