SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - After a nail-biting quarterfinal round, the field for the 2010 NCAA Men's College Cup has been set and Louisville, Akron, Michigan and North Carolina will be battling it out on Meredith Field at Harder Stadium for the national title on Friday, Dec. 10 and Sunday, Dec. 12.
Friday's first semifinal game will be between No. 4 seed North Carolina and No. 1 seed Louisville and will be played at 5:30 pm. North Carolina defeated SMU, 4-2, in a penalty kick shootout to advance to Friday's semifinal contest. Undefeated Louisville posted a wild 5-4 victory over UCLA to advance; it was the only quarterfinal game not to go into overtime.
The second semifinal game will feature No. 3 seeded Akron and No. 10 seeded Michigan and will be played at 8 pm. Akron advanced to the College Cup after defeating Cal, 3-2 in a penalty kick shootout on Saturday. Michigan - the lowest remaining seed - advanced with a 3-2 double overtime win over second-seeded Maryland.
Tickets are still available for purchase for the College Cup. All Session Passes - which include admission to both semifinal games and Sunday's 1 pm final - are still available for purchase. The All Session Pass is $40 for adults (ninth grade and above), $30 for youth (age four through eighth grade) and $20 for college students (with valid ID). All Session Passes for the Gold Zone section are sold out.
Single Day Passes will be available for purchase at 9 a.m. Pacific Time on Monday, Dec. 5. Single Day Adult Passes are $25 and Single Day Youth Passes are $18.
Tickets are available by calling (805) 893-UCSB, visiting the Ticket Office in the Intercollegiate Athletics Building on campus, or by clicking here. Tickets ordered online or over the phone will be available for pickup beginning on Friday at 4 pm at Harder Stadium.
Akron, Michigan, Louisville and North Carolina will have allotments of All Session Passes available at $40. Fans who buy directly through one of the four participating institutions will have access to seats directly behind their team's bench for the matches(s) that their team plays. For matches that their school does not play in, they will be able to sit in the White/General Admission sections.
