Allen and Freeman Head to NCAA Championships

Sophomore Wade Allen and Senior Tim Freeman will be representing UCSB at the 2013 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, which are being held Thursday through Saturday at IU Natatorium in Indianapolis. 

Allen will compete in the 100 butterfly for the Gauchos and Freeman will take on the 100 breaststroke. Both swimmers set school records this season in their respective event. 

Allen, who swam a time of 46.5 in the Pac-12 Championships is seeded 23rd in the 100 butterfly competition. Freeman's time of 53.08 will seed him 17th for the 100 breaststroke. 

The 100 breaststroke and 100 butterfly events will take place on Friday, Mar. 29 with the preliminary heats at 8 a.m. (PT). The finals of the event will be held that night at 4 p.m. (PT).

ESPN3.com will be streaming the finals on Friday and Saturday live. ESPNU will air a 90-minute special at 4 p.m. (PT) on Wednesday, April 10.
