UCSB Defeated by USC and Texas A & M in A Double Dual Meet

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - A close meet between UCSB and Texas A& M was swam in the same water as UCSB and the host team University of Southern California Saturday January 7, 2006 at McDonald's Swim Stadium.
Junior Pat Cary took home the only first place finish of the day for UCSB in the 200 butterfly 1:49.70. Cary also took second in the 100 fly 49.45 to USC swimmer Sam Masson. Senior Garrett Porteous took second in the 500 free with a time of 4:30.64. Porteous took fourth in the 200 fly with a time of 1:54.82. Senior Pat Ota took second in the 100 backstroke, 50.15. Junior Brent Nolan took third in the 1000 free 9:38.68. Ota, Cary, Nilsson and Mastumoto tied for second with Texas A& M in the 200 Medley Relay both teams taking second to USC. Freshman Chris Good took home a third place finish in the 200 back 1:51.38.
The Gauchos hit the road to Davis, California to swim against UC Davis on January 20, 2006 and to Stockton, California to swim against the University of the Pacific on January 21, 2006.
