UCSB Finishes in the Top Three After Day Two at Big West

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Day two at the Big West Championships at the Belmont Plaza was hard on the Gauchos. Davis holds the lead with 319 points, UCI follows with 267.5 and UCSB holds out University of the Pacific by half a point at 229.5. UCSB felt the deficit of the diving points today as Davis picked up 54 points UCI picked up 57 in diving.
The top swims for the Gauchos came from Brooks Felton who finished third in the 500 free with a time of 4:29.73, and teammate Myles Peck finished sixth with a time of 4:33.38. In the 200 Individual Medley Daniel McClary took fourth with a 1:50.76, Pat Cary took sixth, 1:52.51 and Daniel Nyaradi finished ninth, 1:53.05. In the 50 free Bradley Matsumoto took third with a 20.49 and Scott Vogelgesang took fifth with a 20.77.
Day three of the Big West Championship meet starts with prelims at 11:00 AM and finals begin at 6:00 PM at the Belmont Plaza.
