Pat Cary Breaks School Record at NCAA
March 16, 2007
Minneapolis, Minn - The 2007 Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships continued today at the University of Minnesota. UCSB representative senior Pat Cary competed in his first event of the meet today, the 100 yard butterfly.
Cary broke his own Gaucho record that he set last season in this event. His time today was 47.23 which destroys his 47.50 in the record books and his unshaven swim at the Big West Championships in February. His swim in prelims placed him as the second alternate for finals. At the end of the days competition Cary walked away with the UCSB school record and 18th place at NCAA.
At the third, and last, day of competition Cary looks forward to swimming the 200 yard butterfly. He currently holds the UCSB record in this event as well. Prelims begin at noon and finals start at 7pm CT.
