TEMPE, Ariz. - UCSB had an upsetting loss to ASU in the last hundredths of a second of the meet. UCSB had been leading the way until the last race, when they gave up the race, and the win to ASU by eight hundredths of a second Saturday at the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center.
In the 400-yard freestyle relay ASU came from behind on the last leg of the relay to win the event for the Sun Devils. UCSB finished second in the relay with a time of 3:05.02. The Sun Devils also won the 200-yard medley relay by defeating UCSB by one-one hundredth of a second. Myles Peck won the 200 free with a time of 1:40.94 and teammate Grant Hurst was just behind him taking second with a 1:41.45. UCSB swept the 100 back, Pat Ota, Chris Good and TK Erwin walked away with those points. Pat Cary won the 100 fly with a time of 49.71. Ben Fisher and Pat Ota were behind taking third and fourth adding in some points for the Gauchos.
The Gauchos are heading home to face UC San Diego on November 5, 2005 at 10:00am at Campus Pool.
